DON’T BE AFRAID TO FAIL
You’ve failed many times, although you may not remember. You fell down the first time you tried to
walk. You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim, didn’t you? Did you hit the ball the first time
you swung a bat? Heavy hitters, the ones who hit the most home runs, also strike out a lot. R. H. Macy
failed seven times before his store in New York caught on. English novelist John Creasey got 753
rejection slips before he published 564 books. Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times, but he also hit 714
home runs. Don’t worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.

In the midst of great potentials, every individual has the ability to do, create, invent and transform
anything in life. Be that as may be, many people still continue to endure living average life due to their
inability to step out the comfort zone and giving themselves a chance to learn from their failures. It is no
smooth-talk that failure happens to all. To forge ahead in life, you must wade through the miry pulls of rock
bottom ordeals that always stares us on the face.
Perfection tags no human except the superior being. In no wise were some birthed to succeed and
others to fail. Greatness and failure co-exst and co-habit in human existence. Failure is not final! Only
do well to remember that you only can imprint on yourself “FAILURE” by failing to try. Therefore, there is
no real reason to be worried and scared to fail.
Dear friends, the world’s top achievers in diverse fields, careers are never petrified
of big challenges. This excites them and accordingly, they set their goals backing them with determined
actions and attitudes that simply states that they are not intimidated by defeat. They have the
understanding that there are greater risk of failing on the way toward the attainment of huge goals but
they simply don’t give a damn.
Frankly speaking, the risk of failure is actually what makes life fun. It makes whatever people do more

If I may ask, what are we afraid of? Most times, we are afraid of ourselves! Most of us become locked up
in our past mistakes. We recall all those mistakes we have made – major and minor. This generate into
deep regrets serving as a drawback, restrictions and boundaries stopping us from confidently and
progressively pursuing our predestined purpose. Weaknesses also sentence us to a
lifetime of failure, irrelevance and insignificance thereby darkening people’s foresight to the knowledge
that “FAILURE” is part of chasing any worthwhile ambition. Your attitude of not being perturbed to go
downhill is like jumping into a river without knowing its depth or where its flowing tides will take
you. We are then enslaved in these prisons that restrain us from taking the risks; the fright for
Don’t be afraid to fail because it might be a stepping stone to success. Know that the only true failure is
being scared of the challenges and quitting on your dreams. If you haven’t failed before, you are not
reaching high enough. Failure is simply a sign post that reads that something is wrong and needs to be
fixed – fix it. Be ready to fail in stretching toward the fulfillment of your dreams.
However, it might not always lead to success but it is the sacrifice to pay in doing the right thing. It is
not something limited to only you but an element we humans have in common.
Failure is a basis of learning. Recognise that failure is a major fragment of chasing worthy dream. After
each failure, simply dust yourself off, pick up the pieces and learn from all the mistakes. Afterwards,
keep believing that next time you will be the hero of your own story. If you fail; don’t quit, try again and
“True Success is a triumph over any thing that has the potential to stop you. You succeed when you are
able to spell F-A- I- L-U- R-E in the true sense of the word.”
