DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE?
Each second we live is a new and unique moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and Paris is the capital of France.
When will we also teach them WHO THEY ARE? We should say to each of them. You are a marvel! You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.
You may become another Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you have another who is, like you, a marvel?
As humans, we are always in the habit of comparing. A child is more cute, handsome, beautiful, more obedient and intelligent than others. The educational system acknowledges students who come first and ignore others who come last in the class. The society continuously compares things and makes some people overlook their uniqueness. The comparison of people has generated a lot of trouble with identity. The fact still remains that every individual is unique and there is no one like such a person.
According to the Holy Writ, in the creation story, the Creator made diverse species of animals – birds, lions, donkeys, elephants, ants to mention but a few. Equally dazzling is the variety of human beings created, who lived, now lives, and will continue to occupy the earth. God procreated each individual as a unique entity.
But the most important fact of your identity is that God created you in His own image. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are special and unique indeed!

However, as a concept, many people understand that we are all unique. But in practice, uniqueness feels removed. It is only attributed to what only true heroes have or can achieve. Know this; there is no one that has your gifts, talents, endowments, intelligence or personality. If you do not exist, a hole, a gap will be created in the history of mankind.
Believe it or not – no one is a replica of you. Your personality traits – habits, your voice, intelligence, your physical appearance, values, personal tastes or likes are one of a kind. Also, the texture of your hair, your fingerprint doesn’t match anyone either living in the present, past or even in the future. There is no same combination of the expressions, gestures, features that makes you.
Therefore, no one can contribute to the world what only you can.
It is saddening that inferiority complex has become a widely known term in our world today. People feel less significant in some way or other, and the reason is that they never learn to accept their originality and are never aware that they are one-of- a-kind. It has made many people unable to enjoy their uniqueness. Their sense of self-worth is comprehensively obscured, and as such, they pretend in order to seem more like some other person. They try all possible ways to talk, walk, behave, act and imitate what others do. Impersonators they are.
But, I beg to differ because you are not meant to be like anybody else. Rather, you are meant to be you!
You are not supposed to conceal parts of you that are not in other persons because you were made to be exceptional. That’s why you have to cherish your uniqueness. It is a gift from the superior entity to you.
Try to share it and let its radiant beam light the world.
You are sui generis, a pure breed – one of a kind. Speak to others words and meaning that comfort them. Give your exclusiveness away and seek to impact, encourage and make a great change in your world. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of god created he him; male and female created He them.” Genesis1:27
