A PRESENT CONDITION OF TIME
A PRESENT CONDITION OF TIME
“Distasteful, modest or delightful, we all have LIFE. It’s the present unifying essence that binds us all. What we then create, or do not create, is the starting point of all separation. A good separation though, that reveals self to self, and self to humanity.” – Aramide Salako.
Life, in all its glorious existence, is prompted and truncated by that great dictator – TIME. Time, a present everlasting paradigm is what we, mortals, creatures and nature alike, are all subjected by. Without Time we cease to become, with Time we cease to be; thus, as such finite matters we are against Time, we cannot alter Time, but rather we are altered by Time, subjects to the varying vagaries that is Time.
It stands against primordial reasoning to assume we, dirt that we are, can influence or beat Time, when we are but mere marionettes dancing to a timeless tune that set the world in motion. Let it be recorded, whatever forces influences Time, Time is our earthly monarch; our everyday sentinel: and we are occupied in A Present Condition of Time.
Against Time we are hopeless, but in time we are hopeful – buoyed on with a spirit, driven on by promises, filled with LIFE. Now, that is what we wholesomely have; the NOW, the PRESENT. We can’t waste Time because we don’t own It, we don’t even know much about It, but what we can, and do, is waste LIFE, in more ways than one.
A poser to you now reading – what are you presently doing/creating with the LIFE you have now? Though related, this is not predominantly a question of position, performance or attainments. Motive is a governing principle that underpins life and existence. You are here for a reason, WHY? I am here for a reason, WHY?
This is not a question you smugly bat out a ready answer to, no. It’s an everyday question, every day you breathe there’s a recurring reason you are yet alive in this world, WHY? “And Jesus went about doing good.” Hitler spent the greater part of his life exterminating Jews. Martin Luther King was assassinated whilst pursuing his dream for a social inclusion and integration… A life-purpose is never truly accomplished until such life is spent and buried on it.

The present condition of time. Presently, the condition of life and lives in our time, today, is in a state of constant flux; a raging whirlpool of unprecedented madness that wouldn’t let. Day after day, fresh mysteries emerge from God-knows-where, stockpiling on an ancient catalogue of puzzles that are yet unsolved. Man, though, remains gallant, trudging on admirably in the ocean of time as would a polar bear thrust upon an existence hemmed in cold, glaciers and grimness, conditions in which nothing called life should exist. But they do, and so do we.
We have evolved, and we continue to, in spite of all that nature, creatures and man himself has thrown at humanity, at our existence. We are here still, hanging on, survivors of times and struggles and lifetime of unmitigated desolation, unthinkable bloodletting that has all, somehow, landed us here. And at this juncture, at this point in time, the questions beg – what do we make of life and livelihood in this present condition of time? Where are we to be found? Where are we lost, and losing it? How do we, yet again, survive this curious time of ours?
Answers to these core questions of time are oblivious matters out of time. Answers to questions of life, though, are what we humans have been thankfully armed with. Pestilence, poverty, depravity, or whatever malady prevails in the guise of vice or violence, the solutions and possible eradication are right within our ambit. The worst has come upon man, worse is still yet coming, but we shall survive, as always.
It’s a passing phase, and we are all here for a reason, but more than that, a GREATER REASON. Time shall pass, and pass to be no more a tormentor to us. From Time, a present everlasting paradigm, to ETERNITY, an everlastingly present abode, it will be then, the story of you and I, and MAN – what we made with the LIFE God-given, while time raced against us.

“Life, summarily, is what we make of it and what it makes of us. You are life, and life is You.”
